YUM YUM SUNDAE TOPPING 
1/2 c. sliced, pitted dates
1/2 c. dark corn syrup (any color syrup will work, however)
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. water
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Combine dates, corn syrup, brown sugar, water and salt in a saucepan. Bring to boiling and cook 2 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add vanilla and pecans. Mix well. Cool; serve over vanilla ice cream. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
