ORIENTAL SHRIMP AND MUSHROOMS | |
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced 2 sm. onions, thinly sliced 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 c. oil 2 c. chopped celery 1 (5 oz.) can thinly sliced water chestnuts 1 c. chopped green pepper 1 c. water 4 tsp. soy sauce 1 beef bouillon cube 1/2 tsp. each salt and pepper 1 lb. peeled and deveined raw shrimp or 1 1/2 lb. cooked shrimp 2 tbsp. cornstarch Saute mushrooms, onions, and garlic in oil in large frying pan. Add remaining ingredients except shrimp and cornstarch. Cook to boiling, cover and simmer about 5 minutes. Add shrimp, cook 5 minutes longer. Mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup water and stir into mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and clear. |
