2 sticks butter
3 c. sugar
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
1/2 c. solid shortening
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 sm. bottle 7-Up

Cream well the butter, shortening, and sugar. Add eggs and continue beating. Add sifted flour gradually. Add vanilla and lemon flavoring and then slowly add 7-Up. Pour into large tube pan lined with greased and floured brown paper. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
