CHERRY TOPPING FOR CAKE 
1 env. Knox gelatin
1/4 c. cold water
1/3 c. maraschino cherry juice
1/2 c. sugar
1 (10 oz.) maraschino cherries, drained
2 c. whipped cream (or Cool Whip)
1/2 c. nuts, optional

Soak gelatin and water 5 minutes. Heat cherry juice with sugar. Add to gelatin. Stir well and cool until it gets syrupy. Fold in cream, cherries and nuts.
