1 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg, whole
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. walnuts

Mix all ingredients, roll into long roll and wrap in waxed paper and chill. Cut cookies off and bake at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes.
