RASPBERRY BARS 
1 box vanilla wafers, crushed
1 1/2 sticks melted butter
1/2 c. butter
2 c. confectioners sugar
8 oz. cream cheese
1 c. chopped nuts
1 pkg. raspberry Jell-O
1 c. boiling water
2 boxes frozen raspberries

Mix together vanilla wafers and 1 1/2 sticks melted butter; press into 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan (save some for topping). Beat cream cheese, 1/2 cup butter and sugar. Spread on pressed crumbs. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top. Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water. Add frozen raspberries and juice. Spread on top of cheese mixture. When slightly set, spread Cool Whip on top and refrigerate.

NOTE: This is not a quickie preparation, but can be made one day ahead. Also freezes well.

Serves a large group.
