CUSTARD PIE 
Pastry for pie crust
3 eggs, whole
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. milk
3/4 tsp. vanilla

FOR GARNISH:

1 pg. cream, whipped with sugar
Strawberry jelly

Make pie crust and fit into an 8 inch pie plate, building up an edge to hold filling. Beat eggs with rotary beater, then beat in other ingredients. Pour into pastry-lined pie pan. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Bake in this oven temperature for 15 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake until a silver knife inserted into the side of the filling comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. When cool, garnish the entire outer rim with sweetened whipped cream. Decorate center with alternating whipped cream and jam.
