PENNY BISCUITS 
2 c. hot water
1/2 c. shortening
4 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
2 pkgs. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 beaten egg

Add shortening to hot water. When melted add 1/2 cup cold water and 4 cups flour, sugar and salt. Soak y east in 1/4 cup warm water. Add to above mixture. Mix in beaten egg.
