GOLDEN PUMPKIN LOAF 
1 c. sugar
1 egg
16 oz. can pumpkin
3 c. biscuit baking mix
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease loaf pan with shortening, using pastry brush. Beat 1 cup sugar, 1 egg and the pumpkin in mixer bowl on medium speed 30 seconds. Gradually beat in remaining ingredients on low speed just until smooth. Pour into the greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees 1 hour and 10 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool the pumpkin loaf 10 minutes on rack, then remove from the pan. Serve warm or cold.
