VANILLA ICE CREAM 
3 c. milk
2 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 c. heavy cream
2 tsp. vanilla
1 pt. half and half

Put milk and cornstarch in a kettle. Dissolve cornstarch in a small amount of milk. Add salt, sugar, and beaten eggs. Put over dish of hot water and cook until thick, about 15 minutes. Take off water and add vanilla, cream, and half and half. Put in ice cream freezer. Proceed as on ice cream freezer directions.
