CHUCK WAGON BEANS | |
1/2 lb. bacon slices 3 lbs. ground beef 3 c. finely chopped onion 1 c. finely chopped celery 2 beef bouillon cubes 2/3 c. boiling water 1 1/2 c. ketchup 1 1/2 cloves garlic, minced 3 tbsp. prepared mustard 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 (29 oz.) cans molasses-style baked beans Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Fry bacon crisp; drain and set aside. Cook ground beef, onion, and celery. Dissolve bouillon in boiling water; stir bouillon and remaining ingredients into meat mixture. Cover and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes until hot and bubbly. Crumble bacon; sprinkle over beans. Makes 12 (1 cup) servings. |
