WHIPPED TURNIPS 
4 c. mashed, cooked turnips
2 c. soft bread crumbs
1/2 c. melted butter
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 eggs, slightly beaten

Combine turnips with bread crumbs (for soft bread crumbs, remove crusts from fresh bread; cut or tear in tiny cubes). Blend in remaining ingredients; place in greased 2-quart casserole. Bake in moderate 350 degree oven 1 hour and 15 minutes or until set. Makes 8 servings.
