PEANUT PATTIES 
2 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. light corn syrup
1 c. milk or cream
3 1/2 c. raw peanuts
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Few drops red food coloring. Combine sugar, syrup, milk and peanuts in heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until a few drops of mixture forms a soft ball when dropped in cool water. Take off heat. Add butter, vanilla and coloring. Beat until mixture is creamy. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper or aluminum foil. Let cool. Yields: 25 to 30 patties.
