BONNIE REEVES CAKE | |
1 box yellow cake mix (your favorite) 1 (3 oz.) pkg. instant pudding mix (any flavor) 1 cup dairy sour cream 1/2 cup cooking oil 4 eggs chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans are best), divided chocolate chips, divided Preheat oven to 350°F. Place first five ingredients into a bowl and beat with mixer for 10 minutes while scraping the sides. Place 1/2 of the mixture into a tube pan. Use half of the nuts and chocolate chips (to taste) then put the remaining cake mixture on top. Use more nuts and chocolate chips to top the cake. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour. Test cake with toothpick in center to make sure none sticks to the pick. If so, bake for another 5 or 10 minutes. Let stand for a few minutes. With a smooth knife, cut around the edges of the pan to release the tube. Place on flat surface and then cut around the bottom and around the center tube part.
