HARVEST NUT LOAF 
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. canned or cooked pumpkin
3/4 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
3/4 c. finely chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom of 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Combine flour with soda, salt, and spices. Cream butter. Gradually add sugar, cream well. Beat in eggs. At low speed, add the dry ingredients alternately with pumpkin, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips and 1/2 cup walnuts. Pour into pan. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup walnuts over top of loaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 65 to 75 minutes. Cool. Drizzle with Spice Glaze (see recipe below). Let stand at least 6 hours before slicing. Makes one 9 x 5 inch loaf

Spice Glaze:
1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. cream or milk

Combine the sifted confectioners sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Blend in cream or milk until the consistency of a glaze.
