3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. butter (3 cubes)
3 c. sugar
8 eggs
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter well; add sugar. Continue creaming until mixture is light. Add 2 eggs at a time, beating after each addition. Add dry ingredients, milk, and vanilla; blend well. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
