CURRANT COOKIES 
1 egg, separated
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. walnuts, finely chopped
1 jar currant jelly

Mix together butter, egg yolk and brown sugar. Then add flour, salt and vanilla. Mix well. Form into small balls. Roll into foamy egg white, then roll into nuts. Put thumb print in center of each cookie. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 15 minutes in 350 degree oven. Cool. Put jelly in the center of each cookie. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
