ANISE COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. flour (scant)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. anise seed

Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks and then anise seed. Sift flour, soda and cream of tartar together, salt if used, and combine with creamed mixture. Bake at 325 to 350 degrees for about 12 minutes.
