WESTERN SALAD WITH ORIENTAL
FLAVOR
 
Shrimp
Onion
Mandarin oranges
Toasted almonds
Iceberg lettuce
Fresh spinach
Sesame soy dressing

SESAME SOY DRESSING:

1/4 c. salad oil
2 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. sherry
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. toasted sesame seeds

Arrange ingredients in an attractive design atop lettuce and spinach. Just before serving toss with sesame soy dressing. Combine 1/4 cup salad oil with 2 tablespoon each vinegar, sherry and lemon juice. Add 2 teaspoon each soy sauce and toasted sesame seeds. Mix or shake until well blended. Makes about 3/4 cup (the onion should be sliced thin or use green onions).
