1 lg. onion, chopped 1-2 lbs. ground beef 1 (16 oz.) box salad shells or macaroni noodles 1 (16 oz.) or 14 1/2 oz. can whole tomatoes or 1 qt. home canned 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste or 1 can tomato soup 2 (16 oz.) cans water (1 qt.) 1/4-1/2 pepper 1 - 1 1/2 tsp. salt Garlic powder to taste Brown meat in a big pot and drain. Saute onions in meat. Fix noodles according to package directions and drain. Mix tomato paste or soup in noodles. Cook canned tomatoes in meat mixture about 10 minutes. Mix noodles with meat mixture and add water. Serve right away or simmer no longer than 10 minutes and serve. Good with homemade bread or Pillsbury bread sticks. Good with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on it too. |
