SUPPERTIME CORN CHOWDER 
1 med. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. butter
2 c. diced potatoes (2 med.)
1 c. water
2 c. milk
2 tbsp. flour
1 (10 oz.) pkg. Bird's Eye sweet whole kernel corn
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. Post 40% Bran Flakes
1 tbsp. melted butter

Saute onion in butter in saucepan until golden. Add potatoes and water. Bring to a boil. Cover; reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are very tender, about 15 minutes. Gradually stir milk into flour. Add corn, milk mixture, salt, and pepper to potatoes. Bring to a full boil, stirring occasionally; simmer about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, saute cereal in butter in skillet, stirring often. Sprinkle over individual servings of soup just before serving. Makes 5 3/4 cups or 6 servings.
