3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. oil
1 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cream 3/4 cup sugar, shortening, oil, milk, vanilla and egg until light and fluffy. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Gradually blend in flour, baking powder and salt at low speed until well mixed.

Spread evenly on ungreased 15 x 10 x 1 inch jelly roll pan. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until light brown. Cool 5 minutes; cut into cookies. Makes 48.
