EASY SUGAR COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening (1/2 butter)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend flour baking powder and salt. Mix together. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Form walnut sized balls and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Flour the bottom of a glass and press balls down until about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle with sugar.

Bake for 6 to 8 minutes in a 400°F preheated oven or until cookies are done (do not overbake).
