1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
5 oz. box mint chocolate wafers
36 walnut halves

Cream butter with sugar and brown sugar. Mix in egg, water and vanilla. Stir flour with soda and salt. Add the creamed mixture. Chill at least 2 hours. Enclose 1 mint chocolate wafer in each rounded teaspoon of dough. Place on greased baking sheet; top each cookie with walnut half. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Makes 3 dozen.
