DEEP DISH HAMBURGER PIE 
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. monosodium glutamate (optional)
1 (8 oz.) can cut green beans, drained
1/2 of 10 3/4 oz. can tomato soup or 1/2 c. ketchup
1 c. mashed potatoes (instant or leftovers)
3 tbsp. shredded Cheddar cheese

In 8 inch skillet cook meat and onions until done. Stir in seasonings, beans and soup. Pour in ungreased 1 quart casserole. Spoon mashed potatoes on mixture. Top with cheese. Bake until hot and lightly brown, 350 degrees, about 30 minutes. Serves 2-3.
