1/2 lb. butter
1 lb. 10X sugar
4 lg. eggs
1 c. milk
3 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add milk and dry ingredients alternately, starting and ending with flour mixture. Add vanilla. Bake in 10-inch tube pan (greased and floured) at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. White raisins and black walnuts are a nice addition.
