FROSTED SUGAR COOKIES 
3 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour (rounded)
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Cream eggs and sugar; add shortening and beat well. Add vanilla, milk, baking powder, baking soda and flour. Mix well. Drop by spoon onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool, then frost.

FROSTING:

1/3 c. butter
3 c. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. cream or milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat together all ingredients until smooth. Use food coloring and make several different colors of frosting.

Hi Paula,

Sometimes the type of baking powder used can make a difference. Try a different brand (some are aluminum based while others are phosphorus based) or if you use the same brand next time, cut the baking soda to 1 teaspoon.

I only made the frosting and it tasted really good. However, it was very stiff and hard to work with, so I suggest adding more cream/milk.
