SAUERKRAUT | |
2 (2 lb.) pkgs. sauerkraut (found in refrigerator section of store) Rinse sauerkraut with cold water and drain. Add: 2 onions, chopped 3/4 c. brown sugar 2-3 c. water (don't make too thin) 2 ham hocks 1 tsp. caraway seed Cook in crock pot overnight. Remove ham from bone and return to sauerkraut. Add 1 or 2 grated potatoes and cook at least 1 hour. Cut up 3 pounds German sausage and fry until brown. Add to sauerkraut and simmer. |
