MARTHA WASHINGTON CANDY | |
2 lb. confectioners' sugar 1 can condensed milk 1/2 lb. butter 1 qt. finely chopped pecans Combine sugar, milk and butter well. Add pecans. Chill overnight. Melt 1/4 pound of wax with 8 squares of baking chocolate over hot water. Keep mixture warm over warm water. With a teaspoon dip pieces of the well-chilled candy mixture. Spear the candy piece with a toothpick and dip into the chocolate mixture. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off and cool the candy on waxed paper. This may be kept for a number of weeks in the refrigerator, a delightful Christmas - time treat. |
