DINNER ROLLS | |
2 pkg. of dry yeast 3/4 c. warm water 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs 1/2 c. shortening 4 c. flour Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in sugar, salt, eggs, shortening and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in remaining flour. Knead on lightly floured board until smooth and elastic. Put in greased bowl and cover. Let rise until doubled. Punch down and divide in half. Roll into twelve circles and cut each into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball. Place balls on greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise until doubled. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Delicious when served hot. May be frozen and reheated. |
