PAT'S ROLL THE CAN ICE CREAM 
FREEZER:

1 (1 lb.) coffee can with lid
1 (3 lb.) coffee can with lid
1 1/2 c. rock salt
20 c. (7 1/2 lb.) crushed ice

ICE CREAM:

1 c. heavy cream
1 c. milk
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. raisins, diced peaches, strawberries or cherries, optional

In small can mix ice cream ingredients. Cover and set in center of larger can. Layer half the ice with half the salt, in the empty space between the cans place lid on larger can. Now roll the can between 2 people on a level and hard surface for 10 minutes.

Open outer can and empty old ice and water. Lift out small can. Wipe lid dry and remove. With knife or spatula scrape ice cream from can sides so it falls to center. Stir and cover. Return small can to large can. Repack with ice and salt. Cover and roll for 5 minutes. Makes 2 1/2 cups ice cream.
