ROLL - THE - CAN ICE CREAM | |
1 (3 lb.) coffee can with lid 1 lb. coffee can with lid 1 1/2 c. Kosher or rock salt 20 c. (7 1/2 lb.) crushed ice 1 c. heavy cream 1 c. milk 1 beaten egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. sugar Pinch of salt In small can mix cream, milk, beaten egg, vanilla, and sugar. Cover can and set in center of large can. Layer half the crushed ice alternately with salt in space between cans. Cover the large can. Have your friends sit in a circle and roll the can back and forth for 10 minutes. Open outer can; empty old ice, salt, and water. Lift out cold small can; wipe lid dry and remove. Scrape ice to center of can. Stir and cover. Return and layer salt and ice again. Cover and roll about 5 more minutes or until it is ice cream. Enjoy! |
