YUM YUM CAKE | |
1 c. shortening 2 c. sugar 2 eggs 3 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cloves 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 (15 oz.) pkg. raisins 3 c. water Boil raisins in water for 5 minutes. Save juice. Let cool. Cream together shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with raisins and juice. Bake in tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Nice Christmas holiday spice cake. You can decorate with confectioners' sugar icing, tinting pink or green. |
