CORN SCONES 
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter, chilled
1/2 c. milk
1 lg. egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly butter 9 inch circle in center of baking sheet. Stir together flour, cornmeal, brown sugar, baking powder, salt. Cut in butter. Stir eggs, milk, vanilla together. Add to flour mixture. Combine. With lightly floured hands, pat dough into 8 inch diameter on baking sheet. Cut into 8 wedges. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned. Toothpick comes out clean.
