BANANA NUT BREAD 
3 lg. bananas (very ripe)
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. raisins
1 tbsp. allspice

Peel and slice bananas into a mixing bowl; add shortening, sugar, eggs, and salt. Stir and beat well. Add flour, soda, nuts, allspice, and raisins; stir very well. Bake in loaf pan at 250 degrees until golden brown and bread starts shrinking away from pan.
