SAVORY CHICKEN 
3 lb. chicken
1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1 c. stewed tomatoes
1 sm. minced onion
1 tbsp. green pepper
1 tsp. salt

Clean, dress, and cut chicken in small joints. Dry carefully. Fry until golden brown in olive oil or vegetable shortening. Place in heavy skillet, add enough water to partially cover. Add seasonings and vegetables. Cover closely and simmer for 45 minutes or until chicken is tender. Serves 6.
