CHOW MEIN (Noodle Recipe) | |
1 pack rice stick noodles (soak in hot water until soft, then drain off the water) Vegetables of your choice 1 carrot, shredded finely 1/2 lb. bean sprouts 2-3 sticks bok choy (optional) 2-3 sticks celery 5 tbsp. oil Chinese cabbage (amount up to your preference. You may add 1/2 of the whole Chinese cabbage or 1/4), shredded finely MEAT: Chicken, pork or beef, shredded finely or in thin slices 5-6 cloves garlic, chopped finely SEASONING: Oyster sauce 3 tbsp. light soy sauce should be sufficient Add lots of pepper for a stronger taste. Mix seasoning in a bowl and add water to make about 1 cup. DIRECTIONS: Heat oil in wok. Fry the garlic until golden brown. Add meat and stir fry for about 3 minutes. Add all vegetables except bean sprouts. Stir fry vegetables and meat for about 3 minutes. Then add noodles to bean sprouts, mixed vegetables and noodles evenly. Lower fire at this time. You may want to add more soy sauce if it's not salty enough. Turn fire up high during the last minute of frying. NOW ENJOY! |
