CRANBERRY FRUIT NUT BREAD 
1 c. sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. shortening
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
3/4 c. orange juice
1 well beaten egg
1 c. fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped (can use blender)
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl mix dry ingredients together. Stir in juice, peel, shortening and egg. Mix until well blended. Stir in cranberries and nuts. Bake in 9"x5" loaf pan, greased on bottom only, about 55 to 60 minutes or until done.
