BUTTERMILK ROLLS 
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
5 c. flour
1/2 c. lard
1 cake yeast
2 c. buttermilk (dissolve yeast in milk)

Mix sugar, salt, soda, baking powder and shortening. Add buttermilk and yeast. Then add flour. Roll and allow to rise until double, about 1 hour. Place remaining dough in covered dish in refrigerator and use as needed. Shape into rolls and place on greased baking sheet. Heat oven to 400°F.

Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
