PEANUT BRITTLE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1/2 c. water
1 pt. raw peanuts
1 piece wax (size 1/2 lg. pecan)
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix sugar, Karo syrup, and water. Let come to good boil. Add peanuts and again let mixture come to boil. Add slivered paraffin and let mixture cook until peanuts are parched, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. When peanuts are parched, remove from stove. Stir in soda and pour on well buttered dish.
