GRANDMA D'S CINNAMON ROLLS 
1 cake yeast/2 pkgs.
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1/2 c. boiling water
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cold water
1 egg, well beaten
5 c. sifted flour
2-3 tbsp. butter/shortening
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cinnamon
Raisins, optional

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Pour boiling water over shortening, sugar and salt. Add cold water and cool to lukewarm Knead lightly on floured board until smooth. Place in greased bowl. Cover, let rise until double in size.

Roll 1/4 inch thick. Spread soft butter (butter) over dough. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon (raisins) and roll up. Pinch to seal. Cut in 1 inch sections and place in greased pan (allow room to rise). Rise 1 hour. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees (metal pan).

Makes about 24. Frost if desired.
