SQUASH PUFFS 
1 c. squash, cooked, drained and mashed
1 onion, chopped and cooked with squash
1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg

Combine all ingredients. Drop by teaspoonful into hot deep fat fryer to form puffs about the size of hush puppies. Fry until browned.
