SPANISH RAISIN BARS 
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. allspice
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. water
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Boil raisins and water in small saucepan until 1/4 of liquid is gone. Add butter. In large mixing bowl, mix together flour, soda, sugar, salt and spices. Mix liquid and eggs, pour over dry ingredients. Mix well. Bake in greased jelly roll pan at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Frost lightly with powdered sugar icing while still warm. Makes 10 bars.
