CHOCO-CHIP OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. quick or old fashioned oatmeal, uncooked
1 (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 c. nuts, chopped

Beat together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat egg and vanilla. Gradually add combined flour, baking soda and salt, mixing until thoroughly blended. Stir in oats, chocolate pieces and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for 9 to 11 minutes. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire cooling rack. Store in tightly covered container. Yields 6 dozen cookies.
