SAND TARTS 
2 sticks butter, softened
1 lb. box powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. pecans, finely chopped

Mix 1/2 cup sugar, pecans, butter, flour and vanilla. Shape into crescents or balls (flattened). Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes until it starts to brown around edges only. While hot, roll in remaining sugar. Let cool 5 minutes. Roll in sugar again. Yield: 3 dozen.
