1 (4 oz.) bar German chocolate 1/2 c. boiling water 1 c. butter 4 egg yolks 2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. brown sugar 2 1/2 c. cake flour, sifted 1 tsp. salt 1 c. buttermilk 4 egg whites, beaten stiff FROSTING: 1 c. evaporated milk or dairy cream 1 c. sugar 3 egg yolks 1/4 lb. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. coconut 1 c. nuts, chopped Combine milk, sugar, egg yolks, and butter in saucepan. Cook until thickened,; add coconut and nuts. Beat until thick enough to spread. |
