PUMPKIN COOKIES 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. pumpkin
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts
1 c. dates, cut up

Cream shortening, add sugar and cream again.

Add egg, vanilla, pumpkin and dry ingredients. Add nuts and dates. Drop by teaspoon on greased sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 to 12 minutes.

FROSTING:

3 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. powdered sugar

Boil milk, butter and sugar 2 to 3 minutes. Cool. Add powdered sugar and beat.
