1 1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal
1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vinegar
1 sm. onion, chopped in sweet milk

Mix together, drop by tablespoon into hot oil. Batter will be thin, just drop slowly into hot oil. Good with fish.
