MOM'S BEST BROWNIES 
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. cocoa
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts

Melt shortening and cocoa over low heat. Beat in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, and nuts. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees until top has a crust, approximately 30 minutes.
