CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter, softened
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. sifted cake flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Combine butter and cream cheese in mixing bowl and beat until well blended. Beat in vanilla. Gradually blend in sugar and beat until mixture is light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time beating after each addition. (Beating is very important with this cake as no liquid is used.) Measure flour. Add baking powder and sift twice. Gradually blend into beating mixture.

Pour batter into a 9x5 inch loaf pan that has been lined with waxed paper. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Set pan on rack to cool at least five minutes in pan.
